A woman, seeking refuge from a domestic violence situation, approached CSA with her children. Recognizing the urgency of their situation, one of our case managers swiftly arranged a hotel room and ensured they had groceries to meet their immediate needs. Unfortunately, this incident unfolded on the son’s birthday, adding an extra layer of complexity to their already challenging circumstances.

However, CSA’s commitment to providing holistic support goes beyond the basic necessities. In a heartwarming turn of events, the case manager discovered a cake available in the pantry. This small but significant detail allowed the woman and her children to celebrate the son’s birthday, offering a moment of joy amid difficult circumstances.

People sometimes ask why we have sweets in the food pantry.
